About the film

sift.simmer.shred was developed during the COVID-19 lockdown through a series of online workshops and rehearsals with actors William McGeough and Delcio Ferreira. Working remotely allowed the characters and their relationship to develop collaboratively over time, before the film was eventually shot together in a London studio flat.

The film follows Arthur and Xavier, a queer couple who move back in together during lockdown. Confinement intensifies an already complicated relationship, as intimacy, dependency, resentment and violence begin to overlap.
